Reformatting your USB on a Windows computer
- Copy all the files, including the vault (encrypted folder) from the flash drive to the desktop of your computer (or somewhere handy);
- Re-format the flash drive to the exFAT file format system:
- Open up Windows Explorer, navigate to the USB;
- Right-click on your USB drive in the sidebar;
- In the dropdown dialog, choose "Format".
- In the "File System" dropdown, choose exFAT;
- Click Start and close this window when the formatting is finished.
- Copy all the program and data files back to the flash drive;
- Now you will be able to copy large files/folders to the flash drive or encrypt them in a vault using your ENC DataVault or SecureAccess security software.
Reformatting your USB on a Mac computer
- Copy all the files, including the vault (encrypted folder) from the flash drive to the desktop of your computer (or somewhere handy);
- Re-format the flash drive to the exFAT file format system:
- Connect the flash drive to your Mac;
- Launch Disk Utility;
- Press cmd + Space, then type disk utility;
- Select your flash drive in the Disk Utility window then click the Erase tab;
- In the Format list box select ExFAT, enter a Volume Label if your want, then click Erase.
- Copy all the program and data files back to the flash drive;
- Now you will be able to copy large files/folders to the flash drive or encrypt them in a vault using your ENC DataVault or SecureAccess security software.
