How does Backup work in DataVault 6?

On Windows, the backups are located at: C:Users\ UserName\AppData\Local\ENC Security BV\ENCDataVault.

On Mac, the backups are located at either /Users/Library/Application Support/ENC Security BV/ENCDataVault/Backup or /Users/Documents/ENCDataVault/Backup, (depending on the OS X version you are running).

Follow the below steps to create a Backup of your Vault, select the backup location or specify the amount of backups you want to retain.

Make a Backup

1. Click on “Tools” in the menu bar and select “Backup ENC DataVault Data”;
2. "As a default all Vault(s) are selected to appear in the backup. Deselect a Vault by clicking on a check mark";
3. Select “Backup”;
4. Wait till the Backup is finalized.

Select Backup location

1. Click on “Tools” in the menu bar and select “options”;
2. Select within the Options screen the tab “Locations”;
3. You can choose 2 different locations: Application Data or My Documents;
4. Select “Ok”.

Select the number of Backups

1. Click on “Tools” in the menu bar and select “Options”;
2. Select within the Options screen the tab “Locations”;
3. Check “Enable automatic backup retention”;
4. Select the number of Backups you want to keep, last and previous versions;
5. Select “Ok”.
